Ordinary Riders doing Extraordinary Things

Creative Riding started as an idea to expose the faces on the outside of the industry to the creative forces behind the industry.
The host and founder started listening to podcasts while writing motorcycle manuals deep inside a cubicle jungle. Many of the available shows were rebroadcasts of radio shows. They were informative and helped to pass the time between 9am and 5pm, but they lacked one thing… they all focused on established racers and industry professionals.
After a few years, podcasting became less complicated to produce, and more motorcycle podcasts began to appear in iTunes. Shortly thereafter more podcast services entered the marketplace and brought even more moto-related shows to the public.
Homegrown, bootstrap style shows popped up, and focused on local riding and the local biking flavor. It was an awesome way to connect with other riders half way across the country (or world). It was also a great way to expose local talent.

Shortly after seeing Robbie Maddison ride his motorcycle on water, the host realized that motorcycling is one of the most diverse activities in the world: from simple family transportation to mind-blowing stunt show, it can all accomplished on two wheels.
Unfortunately, like most other “sports”, only the elite get media coverage and subsequent public exposure. The other 95% of riders go unnoticed despite their accomplishments.
What Robbie Maddison did was awesome, but he didn’t do it alone. Also, unlike the Indian family of five on a 125cc scooter, he didn’t do it on a daily basis.

It turns out that some of the everyday riders are also racers, artists, fabricators, mechanics, painters; They are also mothers, fathers, teachers, mail carriers, business owners, and blue collar workers. One last quality – they are also amazing.

Unlike many of the shows that focus on the actions and personalities of the elite, Creative Riding focuses on the accomplishments of the 95% that live in the shadows, yet comprise the family and embody the two-wheeled lifestyle that brings us all together.
