If someone calls you a biker do you feel<br \/>\nlike a badass or do you feel like you maybe skipped one too many showers?<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 970px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/media.vocativ.com\/photos\/2015\/05\/How-To-Join-An-Outlaw-Biker-Gang-20111015_zaf_m67_1613456696693.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/media.vocativ.com\/photos\/2015\/05\/How-To-Join-An-Outlaw-Biker-Gang-20111015_zaf_m67_1613456696693.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">One of the first Google Images that pops up&#8230;. uh, ok.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The question of \u2018Bikers\u2019 was brought up in an online discussion and it struck a\u00a0chord with us at Creative-Riding. To be honest, we would be honored to be called\u00a0super bikers (a reference to the racing series of the 1980s), but we would be taken\u00a0aback if someone actually referred to us as \u2018bikers\u2019.<br \/>\nLike everything else, the media\u00a0has mostly shaped the public\u2019s image of the Biker. Shoot-outs, drug busts, and annual\u00a0rallies are frequently reported as \u201cbiker\u201d activities on the news and in the media. Yet\u00a0when someone goes down in traffic or an accident is reported on the news, they\u00a0always use the term \u2018motorcyclist\u2019.<br \/>\nThere\u2019s also the sexist connotation that is associated\u00a0with the term Biker. Since most \u201c1%er\u201d clubs treat women as property or use them in\u00a0positions of servitude, a biker is usually associated with being a man. Can there be\u00a0women bikers too? (Of course we know the answer to this one &#8211; we&#8217;ve seen them out there).<br \/>\nThis is the question that we ask, and only you can answer!<br \/>\nOne final thought, is this term only an American stereotype?<br \/>\nLet us know.<\/p>\n<p>-Cheers<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you like the term \u2018Biker\u2019?
