Hello all! Sorry this episode is so late being delivered. I felt like utter shit. I started the recording not feeling that bad due to the help of some medication, but things quickly went south.
\nThen I went out of town for the weekend. I took my podcasting gear with me in hopes of getting the show out still, but I literally went to a barn raising. The manual labor wiped me out since I was already not feeling well, and I was asleep before the local hipsters even got ready to go out for the night.
\nI started recording this episode Thursday, when it was sunny and 80 degrees. Today was Monday and it poured, and it included some thunder and lightning.
\nSo, for what it\u2019s worth, my sincerest apologies. <\/p>\n
Tire swappin\u2019:
\nPlaying with tires is a little bit like playing with your lover:
\nYou need to get them warmed up before hand. Always use a little lube and a little protection. Do a bit of prying and pulling in all the right places, and Voila!!-mutual satisfaction and smiles all around.
\nOr you can go in like a sado-masochist- cold rubbber intertwined with a bunch of random metal. No protection, no lube. Scratching like a feral cat. Getting beat by and beating on smelly black rubber. Two sweaty hours of screaming and frustration later, you will have achieved the same results, but like BDSM, you both may be sore for a while after. <\/p>\n
\tHow to remove tire (poor man\u2019s bead breaking.
\n\t spoons, irons, zip ties)\t<\/p>\n
\tHow to mount & balance tire<\/p>\n
Replacing wheel bearings
\n\u2022\tUse tire spoon to remove seals
\n\u2022\tHeat hub if you can to expand it if necessary to get bearings out.
\n\u2022\tTap bearing out with a punch, working your way around it so that it doesn\u2019t go sideways in the hub.
\n\u2022\tSometimes you may have to move the spacer in the hub if it\u2019s exactly that same
\nsize as the bearing.
\n\u2022\tPut the new bearings in with a seal\/bearing driver set (one of the only things that\u2019s ok to buy at Harbor Freight). Heat the hub again if necessary, and you can also use the old bearings, a matching socket, or a matching piece of PVC pipe to drive the bearings home.
\n\u2022\tPut water resistant grease and install the new seal.<\/p>\n

\nI\u2019ve got my own crappy opinion about the EPA\u2019s re-wording of the clean air act (first heard by us on the 2E Podcast). Apparently the EPA is targeting any plated vehicle in their new legislation. It won\u2019t matter if you\u2019re at a racetrack, a tradeshow, or a local swapmeet\u2026 according to the guys at Two Enthusiasts, you will be cited if your exhaust is not the factory emissions-compliant unit .<\/p>\n
I also talk about Victory Motorcycles, and why I think they didn\u2019t make a move to acquire Buell.
\nParent company Polaris is busy setting their sights on Buell\u2019s former lanista , Harley-Davidson. Thanks to it\u2019s collaboration with Roland Sands, Polaris (indian specifically) has blown the doors open on the Hooligan racing class, and as a result, Indian has successfully entered the AMA twins class for 2016.
\nAlong with the success of the Indian brand with the new Scout and Scout Sixty, the Victory Octane and Ignition are generating interest alongside their stable mates, the Project 156 and Victory Empulse electric bike.<\/p>\n
