Suzuki has been making waves in the motorcycle industry over the last few years with new engines, new models, and more. From the brand that gets a bad rap quite frequently for “bold new graphics”, the announcement on July 4th played a pivotal role in shattering that image.

Once a loom maker, the Hamamatsu based corporation has shaken up the globe (and their own snow globe) in recent years by reviving the Katana, introducing a new parallel twin engine in 2022 in several new models and revamping the V-Strom line and long-toothed DRZ 400s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside some newer 1000cc sport touring and ‘crossover’ models, they have managed to keep old favorites like the GSX-R750, SV650 and the C50T alive and well. Still, there’s been one thing missing from the line-up in the USA since the VanVan 200, the long-gone TU250X and the Boulevard S40 (previously the Savage 650) all disappeared… a retro-styled bike that isn’t a big cruiser. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other big three Japanese motorcycle makers have been enjoying the modern retro spotlight with bikes like Kawasaki’s Z900RS, Yamaha’s XSR900 and Honda’s SCL500 or CB1000R.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
