A year in review, Creative Riding turns 1!
Well, well. A perfectly good year has slipped by, and almost right under our noses!! Happy Birthday to us, and you’re welcome!
It’s been a fun-filled year and generally exciting as far as topics, guests and awesome events that happened over the course of the last 12 months. I have been privileged to interview some of the coolest, most talented bikers in the world.
From musicians and artists to teachers and fabricators… as a community, we run the gamut of professions and personalities.
I’ve also tried to bring you stories from the industry and trends that are shaping our future as riders. There are some stories that discuss the culture, and others that discuss the past. All of them are meant to look at Motorcycling and motorcyclists from the other side of the lens.
It’s not always easy to bend life to your viewpoint, but my aim for the show in the future is to get back to the original impetus and its mission statement from day one: bring the creative side of motorcycling to the forefront. Expose the love and the manifestations that arise from our passions for motorcycles and the lifestyle. More importantly, highlight the people that create the two-wheeled world in which we ride and thrive.
Let’s look back at the most popular episodes from the last 12 months. Here are the top 5:
1. Episode 4: CITS-IMS-Tegio – In this most-played episode, the main topics were C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems), the Progressive® International Motorcycle Show at Long Beach, and the inaugural Super Prestigio of the Americas.
2. Episode 16: Motorbikes, Music and Migraines – Along with some technical information, we interviewed Josette Herdell, the founder and head health coach at GoodbyeMigraine.org. She plays jump blues and restores old bikes among some other things!
3. Episode 44: Don’t Believe The Hype– In this episode, I discuss a recent misunderstanding-turned-conspiracy in the fuel world, as well as question what it takes to design, market, and sell a successful bike in today’s struggling market, What will it take to propagate the 2-wheeled life in the future?
4. Episode 2: Oops, I did it again – Perhaps some Brittany Spears fans click on this link only to be disappointed for eternity. Perhaps our own self-deprecating sense of humor and the jabs that we take at Episode 1 are the culprit. Either way, we’ll never fully understand why Episode 2 is number 4 on the list!
5. Episode 42:EPAnybody? – I think the current state of affairs, and a generous helping of interest in Episode 44 has helped to establish this episode as a top five resident. We go into the history of the EPA and it’s Republican founder. We also examine the part that it played in our current policies as well as a glimpse into the future.
