BMW enters 300cc market
OMG BMW YOLO!!!
That’s right, I said it! Well, I implied it with letters and acronyms.
BMW has finally done what I never thought I’d see it do… something sensible and affordable.
I have a yet unreleased podcast where I rant on about the G 310 stunt concept that BMW released in Brazil in October, and a couple weeks later – here it is: the production model for the masses.
To my knowledge, BMW has not had a model in the 300cc range since the 1930s. I am not a BMW aficionado, but I cannot recall a sub 650cc bike in the past 20-30 years of BMWs model line-up. Even the X-Country, X-Challenge and X-Moto thumpers were in the 650cc range- rather large for their respective practical applications in my opinion.
With every other OEM popping out a 300cc platform in the past couple of years, it’s about time BMW laid down some meat for the feast that is the emerging trend in motorcycle markets worldwide.
Even Triumph is rumored to be working on a smaller displacement reactor for their future product pipeline.
Finally, a BMW that I might be able to afford! And hop some curbs without worrying about demolishing some very expensive parts.
