Fiberglass Intro

Hey fart munchers,

Here is a beginning video so that you can go to the hardware store or the internet store of your choice and buy the stuff that you’re going to need. DO THIS FIRST!!

There’s nothing worse than getting pumped for a project only to find that you have none of the pieces or you’re missing a supply item. Let’s do this right!

I’m sorry, but I also have to put the instructional vids behind the paywall. I will try to make them independent from membership incase a $1 per month is too much right now, or for those who don’t want to hear the other shenanigans and just want some DIY advice.

You can watch the vid, but here’s a list of the necessary basics (and my cost / store):
Al prices are USD (and California… might be cheaper where you are)
Fiberglass Resin ($29.98/Home Depot)
Fiberglass Mat ($8.28/Home Depot)
Mixing Cup ($2.28/Home Depot)
Chip Brush 1inch ($1.27/Home Depot)
Chip Brush 2inch ($1.47/Home Depot)
WAX Mold Release ($18 – $45/Internet store)

additional:
YOU NEED A RESPIRATOR! ~$30 (Got mine at Harbor Freight. Was better than my 3M respirator from PPG)
Latex Gloves optional
If you want to buy roller tools, I got a roller set with 3 chip brushes and thick latex gloves for $19.68 on Amazon.
Acetone – you might not need this. I am messy and sometimes I thin my resin. Essential for clean up IMO.
Sand paper (If you’re trying to repair a part rather than fabricate one)
