Happy Holidays and all that!!

Hello Patrons and Patreon supporters. I hope this Friday finds you in high spirits heading toward the hoildays and the new year.

Thank you, firstly to Lance, who suggested that I start a Patreon account in the first place. Although I was reluctant at first, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me as a content creator, and I hope for you as supporters.

Through your support, the show is paid for each month without me having to worry about how much I spent on personal items. With two kids and a couple of bikes, it’s nice to be able to continue the show without having to make a tough decisions like “do I pay for the hosting and gear or parts and soccer balls?”

I truly am grateful for the generosity and financial advantages that you all have shared over the past few months. I try to reward it as time permits, but that has been limited lately.

It’s been a shit show around here this last month…. With all the end of year preparations and WORK!! it’s been a bit crazy trying to manage family time/work and merge it with podcast prep/shows and Patron engagement/rewards.

I had no idea how much time it would take to hand draw and color little “thank you”s and make the Spooky Spokes prizes. Mostly because I do it in my spare time, which has been getting smaller and smaller the last few weeks. I’m still working on them (actually gonna try and finish the majority tonight) and I’ll try to get them out to you before the new year if all goes well.

Aside from the hosting and server fees, Patrons have also funded the following:
• Memory upgrade for the Mac that I edit the audio on
• Additional cables for audio interfaces
• a few supplies for prizes and general Patreon benefits
• steady cam mount (albeit cheap, still awesome)
• and I can’t forget – stickers! Both versions that are out.

In 2019, I plan on making another sticker run… and there’s a lot I have ideas for, but like I said, I don’t really have time to make every idea that comes to mind. At least not on a deadline. I will try to do it evenly over the course of the year.

As you may have seen, I already tried to make a video of Wiggins and I at IMS and at the track on Dec. 9th. Hopefully in the new year, we can branch out and add video to our repertoire. Perhaps even a livestream for you Patrons.

Until next year, be safe. Have fun. Be somewhat responsible. We’ll see you in the new year. And we’ll be asking for your ideas and input.
