Spooky Spokes & Ghost Biker Explorations

Ghost Biker Explorations

On episode 190 we had the chance to sit down and talk with the creator and host of a newer web series. Miranda Young is a designer and marketer by day, and a proper ghost hunter and urban explorer by night. She is also an avid biker, and does most things from behind the bars of her Iron 883 Sportster.

The Tennessee native has been interested in folklore and ghosts since she was a young girl, often times learning stories of Appalachain life from her grandmother. She has found a way to connect her lifelong passions and continue her own legacy from the seat of her bike.

She got her start in paranormal investigations in 2013 analyzing photos for a research team when they called on her expertise to to debunk dust, light and other anomalies in photographs.
Once she was bitten by the bug, she spent years honing her skills and collecting equipment. She also started collecting the local history behind each location, which is why I was immediately intrigued when she introduced her self to us.

I am a huge fan of history. Especially local history. It’s what makes travel so appealing. Sure there are vacation spots that let you shop, relax or just get away from it all, but there are other regions that you might visit for the culture, historical significance and sometimes… the lore.

Miranda chose the latter for the basis of her web series. She spends hours and some times months researching and studying haunting phenomenons that are off the beaten path. She has spent some time and conducted investigations at popular and even famous locations, but she found that she liked the privacy, intimacy and mystery behind more clandestine sites.

Equipped with some unique tools and the company of her cameraman Josh, she sets out to each location with the intent of researching the history and establishing the story behind the phenomenon. This approach appeals to me as someone who dislikes the sensationalism of most “ghost hunter”- style television series.

Connecting bikers to the paranormal crowd and vice versa, Miranda is engaging both audiences through a series of appearances and events. Her season two series premier is going to be hosted by White Lightning Harley-Davidson on Sept 28th – National Ghost Hunting Day.
