Ordinary riders doing extraordinary things

Creative Riding Episode 134 “We’ll Be Right Back”

Welcome all the episode 134!

Happy and harmonious highways to you all.
Junk and Wiggins will be out of the studio this week. Junk is on vacation and Wiggins is preparing for X-Games Minneapolis.

This week’s show will be a “best of” from our archives. We have three lovely guests that graced the airwaves back in the day, and if you’re just listening for the first time, you won’t want to miss what they had to say.

Josette Herdell: Coeur d’Alene, ID USA
Josette is a former NPR producer, boogie-woogie pianist, and Cafe Racer restorer. Hear her story as she tells us about her history with migraines and how it almost stopped her from being a creative rider.
Update: Josette and her husband still stomp and boogie, but they have relocated to San Diego, CA indefinitely. She is still educating and coaching migraine sufferers.

Steve Macknawitz: Waukesha, WI USA
Steve (a.k.a. Michelle) was one of the funnest interviews that I’ve ever done. We laughed almost the entire time. She is the reigning 2017 WIR Top 10 Bikes drag racing champion, and hopefully she can pull of another #1 this year. She is ALL motorcycle and ALL fun. Listen to this teacher talk about racing and you’ll know she gets an A+ for being a creative rider.
Update: Michelle got a permanent classroom sine this interview, and no longer has to teach in a 6000hp wind tunnel!

Dan Michael: Melbourne, Victoria, AUS
Dan is the man behind DailyBikers, a blog about motorbiking in Australia, and an Etsy shop that cranks out some of the best moto art in either hemisphere. Dan has been riding since birth (nearly) and has ridden almost every type of motorcycle as well. If you’ve ever won a prize from Creative Riding, chances are you received at least one thing from Daily Bikers.
Update: Since this interview, Dan has gone through a beloved Grom, and has picked up a Ducati Desert Sled. At last sighting, he was also riding “Posties”, or post office motorcycles, delivering correspondence to the great people of Australia. You can still find him posting motorbikes and occasionally drawing things at www.dailybikers.com
