Creative Riding EP007- 10 Things Part 2

Hello all! We hope the New Year has treated you well so far.
Too much e.g.g nog and snagging got you laid up in bed? Well just kick back and have a listen to episode 6 part 2!!! You’ll be peppier than a terrier with a bee up its ass in no time!

We start out by finishing off the list with no.5-10 of the things that no motorcyclist can go without.
My wife recently started listening to the show, so I took her advice and edited my 45 minute rant and ramble fest down to 10 minutes of nearly sensible blabber.
We had some listener requests for more Krampus, but unfortunately his audio was dropped, and as you know, he only comes around during the yuletide.

From WMCY, Radioblab’s Jed Abramsdad and Robert Sandwich bring you a scientific story about pumping loss, and one idiot’s journey to Las Vegas. This parody devolves into a shit skit between Andy Dick and Jay Leno. it’s fucking awful!!! Anyways – in short, pumping loss is the loss in efficiency of the piston at partial throttle or full idle. Due to the ability of the piston to pump the exhaust out at near atmospheric pressure, the loss is realized during the intake stroke when the piston is trying to intake air at less than manifold pressure, and is instead in a state of vacuum. The vacuum occurs because the piston is drawing air through the venturi and around the throttle valve or “butterfly”.
At wide open throttle, there is nothing for the air to circumvent, therefore pumping loss is minimized and fuel efficiency is maximized.

Stay tuned for some news & reviews in the third segment.

And finally, can better gut heath make you a calmer rider. Thanks to Radiolab.org for another idea to keep us thinking.
