Creative Riding Episode 131 Chompy Chew Chew

Creative Riding Episode 131 Chompy Chew Chew

This week Wiggins and I are out to dinner.

Specials thanks to all of our Patreon supporters!
On this episode I’d like to thank all of the support, from Patrons to Global Listeners and all of the MPC admin. Most of all, Mrs. Creative Riding for helping out with the challenge this year.

It’s the end of the first week of the MPC 2018 and we’re roaring into week two with all guns blazing. There are some stats and hopefully stories to follow.

GMG:
You know what really Grinds my Geeres? I’ll tell ya…
-C.A.R.B. ruins motorcycles (and fun), and now they’re ruining something the entire population is familiar with. Did you know that emissions regulations don’t just apply to tailpipes and air quality?
-Trump bashes Harley-Davidson for opening overseas operations. Right now I can tell you that I was way off on my numbers. The Steel & Aluminum tariffs will cost them $20 million USD, with European retaliatory tariffs possibly costing an additional $45 million. It’s as if he’s saying, “Make your products here, but let me tariff the shit out of your raw materials”. He did say that Harley-Davidson’s motorcycles should never be made outside the country EVER. Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Foxconn was welcomed to Wisconsin with open arms, with Trump encouraging other nations to make their goods here; outside of their countries….
-Digital License Plates. California announces plans to use a new digital license plate. Sacramento, the state capitol, will lead the charge, fitting the plates to a small fleet of vehicles. At a cost of nearly $700, the plates use similar technology to an Amazon Kindle screen. The plates are controlled remotely via wi-fi and can display personalized messages. They can also be tracked and your information probably harvested via people with the technology and know-how. Big Brother under the guise of “Convenient Techy Coolness” anyone?

Wiggins and I had a chance to grab a letter for the challenge and then go out to dinner afterward. You get to sit in like a gagged hostage – able to listen yet unable to contribute – while we carry on our weekly banter about motorcycles and what we know about them.

This week’s show also features the Solstice Slam winners for the third annual submission show. There’s also a video on our facebook and Patreon page.
